The AKC® GoodDog Helpline (GDH) is a live service that offers individualized training advice for all owners and their dogs, ranging from new puppies to senior dogs exhibiting new, unwanted behaviors.
GDH recently launched a brand-new video chat service! Got a question that needs a trainer’s eyes? Schedule a video session with our professional trainers, who are here to help you understand what your dog's actions signify as well as advise you on how to get the desired response.
For a one-time fee, you’ll receive:
- Professional on-on-one live training advice for every training issue unique to you and your canine companion
- One 20-minute video session with individualized attention from one of our knowledgeable trainers
- All the benefits of in-person dog training in the comfort of your home
Your 20-minute session will include live video-chat support from an experienced AKC® GoodDog Helpline trainer, who will lend eyes and ears to all your training questions and concerns.

If you do not see the option to instantly book an appointment, our GDH Staff will contact you within 2-3 business days of purchase to help book your consultation. Our staff will contact you through the email used with your purchase. We advise you to please prepare some possible dates of availability to assist us in booking, and we will work to find a time that best fits your schedule.

The AKC® GoodDog HelplineSM is a support service offering telephone and video chat access to a dog trainer. The training advice offered will only consist of positive reinforcement training methods. The service will be available only for the enrolled dog and is non-transferable. Access by video chat will be by Ring Central (additional terms apply) during only published days of the week and hours. The hours of service may change at any time. You may incur charges when calling AKC GoodDog Helpline services from a cell phone or entering a video chat session from wireless internet connection; please contact your phone or internet provider for more details. You must be at least 18 years or older to access the AKC GoodDog Helpline services. The service will not be able to provide training advice for situations involving aggression or other serious behavioral issues. If the trainer identifies such an issue, the trainer will advise you to seek the services of a professional behavioralist and/or “in person’ training. For video chat session purchasers – please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you experience any technical difficulties; if you do not appear for your scheduled video chat session time, AKC will not grant any refunds. There is no guarantee as to results.
